Scott Ernest, the new CEO at Cessna Aircraft Co., brings with him to Wichita nearly 30 years of experience working for GE Aviation. According to a blog at the Wichita Business Journal, “while some may be somewhat surprised that Textron brought in an outsider to replace Jack Pelton, Ernest’s hiring will keep an aviation mind at the helm at Cessna.” Read the full report here. New engine for experimental market debuts

Enhanced Aircraft Systems (EAS) has introduced the O-408 and IO-408 engines, which incorporate the use of technology from Formula One auto racing to develop advanced components, such as crankshafts, connecting rods, pistons, and piston pins. These parts can be retrofitted to any existing Lycoming, ECi, or Superior Air Parts 360 CI engine, or can be incorporated into a new engine, company officials said.
